Steve Alden, a published screenwriter, lyricist, songwriter, playwright, and poet, is the sole proprietor of Alden Nelson Music BMI. He is also a veteran award winning performer on stage and screen, and a member of Actor’s Equity, Screen Actors Guild, and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Steve and Paul Skemp co-wrote the feature film “Fall Time”, starring Mickey Rourke, Stephen Baldwin, David Arquette and Sheryl Lee. The film was nominated best screenplay at its premiere in the 1993 Sundance Film Festival.

Steve has written and sung on the recording of two CD’s of original songs; Long Dark Ride, and Ophelia Fell. His single “Holly Should” (recorded under the name Steve Nelson) appears on the soundtrack of Joe Eszterhas’ feature film, Burn Hollywood, Burn”

Steve’s one-act play, Shooting Hummingbirds was twice produced in New York City prior to its inclusion in the staged reading series at the Blank Theater in Los Angeles, and is currently being adapted for the screen.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Steve was a member of the prestigious Writer’s Room in New York City, and is a frequent visitor to New York City’s Tuesday Night Throw-down; an artists’ collaborative.

Derin Brockovich-The Musical is the second collaboration between Steve Alden and Michael Sottile. Their first project is a full length musical titled Oh, Well, which has been work-shopped in New York and Los Angeles. 

Steve and Michael are currently hard at work and play on their third musical, Piano Bar.
